Happy Friday! Another weekly grind in the bag and we are so ready for the weekend. Oh how I love Fridays, coffee is amazing everyday but for some reason it just tastes so magical when the weekend is only one day away. I feel less stressed in keeping the house super tidy by the end of the week, no bed making or windexing just lounging and getting on the floor with the kiddos. Basically, Friday is a free for all and we totally take advantage. Sawyer too, you should have seen him just throwing his puffs all around the kitchen today, he totes knew it was Friday!
Another reason why we love Fridays over here…two words, date night! The hubby and I have been trying to take more time to enjoy each other, talk and have dinner by ourselves. It’s a sweet little break away from home for a couple hours. I love hearing about what’s going on with him at work, what we have planned for the family in the upcoming months, and of course, we talk mostly about how much we love our little babies and what they have been up to as of late.
Because Sawyer has a cold I was hesitant to keep date night on the books. He had a much better day with his congestion and we gave him a little tylenol to help with teething so that by the time we were leaving he was happy, comfortable and ready to play with his babysitter and his sissy. We decided to grab dinner, cocktails and a movie and were home by 10 pm. After a few hours out we were so ready to get home to snuggle our littles. Dinner out is basically like getting a brand new battery, I feel more rested, calm and less on edge. Sawyer was fast asleep, but Lilah Loo waited up for her mama.
On a different note, we are so excited to share with you one of our favorite baby products right now. Sawyer is a total mama’s boy and loves to be held and worn in his baby carrier most of the day; however, sometimes a mama has to do the house things and give sissy some attention too. He is not easily impressed when it comes to baby toys so when we introduced him to his new activity center from Skip Hop we were beyond thrilled to see how entertained he was with its bright colors and attached toys.
Most mornings Sawyer opts for his activity center over being held by mama. He loves the freedom of rotating 360 degrees, stretching and bouncing at his leisure. He watches his sissy prance around the house while he plays, laughs and has a ball with its attached sensory activities. We love this activity center for its 25+ developmental activities and “whole body” approach to play and learning.
This activity center allows Sawyer to see his feet while he’s moving which aids in learning cause and effect. Sawyer’s favorite toy to play with is the attached musical, light-up piano with three ways to play. You can attach the piano up high for babe to play with his hands or down below for babe to push with his little tootsie. He also enjoys the peek-a-boo owl that pops out and hoots…he gets such a kick out of that! The bee snack bowl with suction is awesome as it allows Sawyer to snack on puffs and yogurt melts as he enjoys his play time. This snack bowl is also dishwasher-safe, mamas!
Not only is this activity center brightly colored and full of fun for babe, it is also easy on the eyes with its modern design and clean aesthetic. This activity center will grow with your baby for easy cruising and converts to a play table with a smooth, seamless surface for art, crafts and more. This activity center is well worth the cost and keeps our Sawyer well entertained as he learns and develops during his play sessions, a total babe essential!
