We finally had a snow day in Maryland yesterday. Delilah was thrilled to see our yard and streets covered in about four inches of snow when she woke up. It’s a toss up as to who was happiest about the snow fall, Tucker or Delilah. Tucker’s morning potty run lasted triple the amount of time due to his prancing through out flower beds and his snow eating habit. He loves to eat snow…he will eat snow all day, even the yellow kind, labradors for ya!
Although I am in full Spring mode and dreaming about sunshine, Spring vacations and pool days, I was happy to bundle Sawyer up and let him experience his first snow day with his sister. He was excited to watch Delilah sled and make a snow man but his feelings about the frigid temps and wind gusts were not pleasant. After about thirty minutes of snow adventures he was ready to go inside and eat endless amounts of puffs while he played on the ground with his favorite toys.
The hubby and I sipped on coffee and made Delilah hot cocoa and cinnamon buns for breakfast, sugar overload yes, but what would a snow day be without the best comfort food, am I right? Sawyer had his usual oatmeal and yogurt but he was excited about everyone being in the kitchen together. He’s only eight months old but he totally understands when our routine changes from the day to day. The hubby also had a snow day and was able to work from home in between shoveling. This made getting a shower and making dinner a heck of lot smoother so in that respect, this mama loves snow days!
Tomorrow is my birthday and to celebrate we are heading to NYC to stay at the Sofitel and enjoy the city sights. We plan to shop, eat and be tourists for a few days with the kiddos in tow. Three must do’s for us will be to experience Serendipity for a mid day dessert, ice skate and walk our babies through Central Park with an awesome cup of coffee. Looking forward to this upcoming weekend, friends!
…Happy Snow Day…
