Happy Monday my friends! I hope you all had a beautiful Mother’s Day and that you spent it relaxing and soaking up tons of love and affection from your littlest fans. We had a very low key weekend and enjoyed a gorgeous sunny day around the house. It was so nice to see the sunshine after a whole week of rain, wind and chill. We did a little shopping and found some fun decor accents that brighten a few spaces in our home. Home Goods is my favorite spot and I was so happy to have the family accompany me after an early morning Starbucks run. Home Goods, Starbucks and my little family, Mother’s Day made!
We were able to put all of our furniture back this weekend following our wood floor restoration. It feels so good to lounge on the couch and have everything back in order. I need order and structure in my life….my brain works no other way. To say I’m happy to have our routine back in order is an understatement, I’m positively thrilled! The floors look gorgeous and I’m digging the natural farmhouse-esk stain.
Now that our routine is back in play we are dreaming of pool days, cookouts, beach vacays and play dates and are so ready to live it up and enjoy summer before our Lilah girl starts Kindergarten in the Fall. It feels so strange to say that, she was just a baby baby and now she is going to school, big girl school! My mama emotions will be running high come the first day, but really, I am so excited for her. She will have the best time making new friends, exploring and learning about herself in a different environment. I’m a little anxious about this new milestone, but so happy to be able to watch her grow, enjoy and experience this new stage in her life.
Now that we are a stones throw away from summer time and peak vacation season I want to share with you our favorite travel essentials for babe. Sawyer is ten months now and loves to travel, especially when the beach is our end destination. To make our stay away from home the most comfortable for him we like to bring a few necessities along the way to ease the transition from home to hotel. Read below for why we love them, mama’s!
…Travel Essentials for Babe…
one//an ultra comfy docking station that is perfect for sleep, play and lounging. Sawyer only wanted to sleep in his deluxe for the first nine months and now adores his grand Dockatot. His favorite is to lounge in this heavenly cushion with a few teethers while he watches his sissy prance around the house. We packed our dockatot in the convenient travel bag that you can shop here and it was perfect to put on the floor in the hotel for rest time with his bottle. We also like to put it in the crib for his nap time to make him feel secure and snug as a bug.
two//this is our favorite “on the go” snack container. It also doubles as a formula dispenser for babes that are bottle fed. We used this every day while in Jamaica to tote his puffs, yogurt bites and other snacks that he grazed on while on the beach.
three//this bassinet is super easy to assemble and fold compactly into its carry bag. It includes a canopy with removal toys for babe to play with and admire. What I love most about this cocoon like space is it’s two height bassinet bottom that allows you to keep your bundle close to you when sleeping. Sawyer is now grown out of this stylish bassinet but it was a dream to travel with for it’s light weight structure and high portability factor.
four//this portable high chair travels like a charm. It’s compact design folds in a cinch and is easy breezy to set back up to tote to a restaurant or attach to the dining chair in your hotel. It boasts easy-to-clean surfaces, three tray positions, three height adjustments, and a three-point harness!
five//if you haven’t tried these pouch spoons you need too! They simply pop onto the nozzle of your babes fruit pouch and voilà, feeding baby just got a gazillion times easier. The end.
six//this bottle bag goes just about everywhere with us. It attaches perfectly to our stroller and holds two bottles or sippy cups with an included freezer pack. It’s insulated wipeable lining keeps bottles warm or cold, making traveling and cleanup a whole lot easier my friends.
seven//it’s no secret that we adore UPPAbaby! The G-LINK is amazing for travel with two kiddos and our pick for the most comfortable lightweight double. The fabric is super soft and padded while the seats are independent and easily reclinable. This stroller folds easily and boasts effortless maneuverability…it’s so easy to steer, mama’s! The deluxe canopies include an extendable UPF 50+ sunshades to protect babes from the sun, perfect for napping by the pool.
eight//this stylish swaddle is our favorite blanket to carry on the plane for Sawyer. The organic cotton muslin is lightweight and folds nicely into a carry on or diaper bag. Love this breathable fabric for the pool and beach naps.
nine//we keep these alcohol free wipes in our diaper bag, purse and beach bag. They protect, moisturize and are ultra sensitive for both Delilah and Sawyer, especially when we are traveling and everything is so interesting and must be touched by tiny hands.
ten//Sawyer is funny about his bottle and refuses to drink cold milk. A bottle warmer is a must when we are on the go and this digital model is compact and also works well for baby food jars and pouches. I love the digital countdown display and that it alerts you when the bottle is ready.
eleven//this bag is the ultimate travel carry on for babe. I comfortably packed eight days worth of clothes and pajamas for Sawyer in this stylish carry on. It also includes a wipes case and changing pad for babe, perfect for a weekend getaway when you don’t want to lug the extra diaper bag. I love the embossed fabric and classic design for a chic travel look.
twelve//this travel bib is amazing and keeps meal time on the go a breeze. No need to pack several bibs and disposable spoons, this wipe clean bib folds and contains the mess and flexible spoon until you are back to the hotel to wipe and wash for the next meal- winning!
thirteen//this baby dome is top notch for toting to the beach, pool, or park. Let babe sleep, play or lounge on soft padding away from the sun and bugs while you enjoy some rays. The mesh fabric is breathable and makes for a cozy napping space indoors or outdoors. Sawyer loved this dome in the hotel as well. He loved to play with his toys and eat his snacks while mama packed the beach bag and lathered sissy with sunscreen before hitting the beach. This space worked great for when we needed a clean spot on the beach for a quick meal time. He was all about eating the sand along with his pouch….this dome made snacking a lot less sandy too. We also utilized this dome at home in our backyard most evenings. While cooking out on the patio or just watching Lilah swing on her swing set, Sawyer lounged and was protected from the sun and mosquitos.
fourteen//hands down the very best baby carrier for travel. It’s durable, comfortable and appropriate for all getaways. Whether you are walking the beach, strolling through the city or hiking up a mountain, this baby Carrier provides four comfortable ways to wear your sweet babe without throwing out your back. Front-inward, front-outward, hip and back carry positions are all possible and comfy with this ergonomic carrier. While in Jamaica we wore this carrier everyday exploring the resort and walking along the beach in the morning. It was also perfect for excursions off of the resort as well.
