It’s almost Fall and we are ready for all the Fall things, pumpkin picking, boot wearing and apple-cider donut eating included. We have taken it a little slow this summer with the blog, i.e. mama couldn’t roll with both babies, pool days and late night blog fun like I used to….I’m not quite sure if the newborn sleepless nights have finally caught up or if I’m just getting old (ha!) needless to say, the little break was nice and allowed for some much needed time with the kiddos before we started Kindergarten. We are happy to be back in on the action and are excited to hear about what you all have been up to as of late.
Let’s start with Delilah. She is now an official Kindergartner and is loving life at her new school! She has been a dream to get on the bus and is ready in the morning with her outfit laid out and teeth brushed. I thank the lord everyday that she loves her new routine and is happy to wake up and catch the school bus with her little brother waving behind from his push car. It makes the transition from pre-k to elementary school a piece of cake when your little student is a happy one.
When the hubby and I attended her back to school orientation I remember the principal stating that while Kindergarten is a place where our children will learn to read and write, their number one goal is to teach our children to love school and to be passionate about going each and everyday. If they don’t love school from the beginning it’s a long and hard journey from here on out. I loved this message and their will to make this a joyful experience for our babies…..and then I ugly cried because how is my first baby already in Kindergarten?!
As for Sawyer, he is ball of energy and is running around this house like it’s his job. He loves anything that lights up and makes noise, cooking in his pretend kitchen and most of all….loves anything with a ball. Interestingly, he also adores beach shovels. He carries around his sissy’s Frozen beach shovel everywhere, to the grocery store, in the car, while he eats his meals…this Frozen beach shovel has been around town and is well traveled. He is the happiest little brother and his chubby rolls continue to multiply as does his love for food. He has nine pearly whites and a few more popping through as we speak. He waves to every baby friend that passes by and says a little something in baby language, a crack up! He is full of smiles and is still a bonified mama’s boy at heart.
We are preparing for a family trip to Disney in October and are thrilled to experience the “Not So Scary Mickey’s Halloween Party” for the second time. The last trip we took to Disney was two years ago and we had the best time with our Lilah girl. She was in awe as she met each princess and eagerly asked for their autograph and a hug. This year our little guy will be in on the fun and we can’t wait to see his facial expressions as he experiences Disney for the first time. The park will be decorated to the nines with Halloween decor, fall flowers and pumpkins, our ultimate favorite time of year to visit the happiest place on earth! The hubby and I are equally excited to take part in the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.
The Food and Wine Festival is amazing in that every country is well quipped with their signature beverages and food items for all to taste and enjoy. Our last experience was down right memorable as Lilah slept through most of our tastings from country to country giving us a little alone time to take in the sights and inhale the food. The hubby and I savored every little morsel and bubbly from destinations that someday we wish to visit, currently daydreaming of the peach bellini that I sipped in Italy, Epcot….so yum!
While we prepare for Disney and all the Fall fun that is headed our way, we also needed to prep our kiddos closets for the change of seasons. Fall is full of pumpkin patches, hayrides and holidays and we were in need of a durable shoe that could take us through the messiest of farms to the dressiest days of Thanksgiving. We found them friends….say hello to Sperry and the most darling fashions for your littles.
We love the Saltwater Duck Boot for those chilly school days with thick leggings or paired with denim skinnies for pumpkin picking. These boots are versatile enough your babe can wear them with a feminine boot sock and adorable dress for Thanksgiving, making this mama oh so happy because, Helloooo, one shoe will get us though all the events and even a snow storm. Can I get a heck yeah?! The Saltwater Duck Boot is perfect for wet and dry climates and has the perfect amount of traction for your little one’s feet. The rawhide lacing gives this boot a nice snug fit making for secure tootsies while hay-riding and trucking through the elements. The zipper closure is a gem for easy on and off before and after school, just an added bonus. Not only are these boots durable but they are seriously the cutest ever. I might just have to buy these babies in my size.
The Ollie Jr. sneaker is casual, relaxed and looks super cool with slouchy sweats or denim. I also love this sneaker with overalls and an oversized beanie for errands around town. The rich brown gives them a formal look, but again, versatile enough to pair well with play attire and a knit sweater for the playground. Now that Sawyer is getting around and climbing just about everything, comfort and safety play a role in his shoe game. The comfy memory-foam lined soles make the Ollie Jr. the perfect multi-season sneaker with just the right amount of cushion and flexibility for our little guy. Sperry has hit the mark this Fall and we are in love with their latest foot wear for kids. Go check em’ out and let us know which fashions are your favorite! Have a fabulous weekend, friends and happy almost Fall!
…Sperry for Fall…
