Morning, mamas! Remember that gorgeous 70 degree weather we were having in Maryland last week, well, we said sayonara to it yesterday and today was equally as frigid. We swapped outdoor hopscotch and bike riding for indoor puzzles and play dough so that little Sawyer didn’t have to brave the cold. He woke up a little under the weather this morning so we decided to take on Monday in the house. A little runny nose and teething had our little man up all night so a home day was in order.
After a little play session and breakfast, Sawyer went down for his morning nap and Delilah and I baked, laundered and put together two Frozen puzzles that we hadn’t opened from Christmas morning. While mama finished up the laundry and made beds, Delilah played with play dough and watch Moana for the gazillionth time this week. Ummmmm this movie is amazing and if you haven’t seen it, it’s a definite must! The soundtrack is awesome and it easily buys me one full cup of hot coffee by myself on the couch- winning!
This past weekend was full of grocery shopping, cooking and errand running…the usual. I have to say that I don’t dread grocery shopping…in fact, I love it and would spend hours in every single isle parusing. We usually make it a family affair and put Sawyer in the Ergo carrier and go. Delilah loves to help pick things out for her school lunch, Sawyer enjoys the people watching, and I get my Starbucks on and cruise. The hubby does not love the grocery store nearly as much as we do but he’s a good sport about it and hey, it counts as family time, am I right?
While the kiddos were napping today I was able to go through a few photos of a look that I wore out on Friday evening a few weeks back with the hubby. We did dinner and drinks and caught a movie, Manchester by the Sea. Ahem, do not see this movie if you have children, repeat, do not see this movie if you have babies and don’t want to be sad for the rest of the evening out with your husband. Fabulous movie but a real tear jerker, phew!
The weather was chilly so I paired this beautiful rose colored shift dress from Tobi’s with a leather jacket and suede otk boots. This look was comfortable and felt fun and edgy. The plunging square neckline was sexy and perfect for an evening out at our favorite restaurant and bar with light jazz music in the background. We placed a lace bralette under this dress and tied the straps in a bow for comfort as it gave texture and kept the look feeling flirty and feminine. The pear shaped blue druzy studs added a little sparkle and shine to our get up and made accessorizing easy breezy. The makeup and hair we kept simple and chic with a high messy bun and pink hues on the checks and lips. Loved this outfit and felt like a million bucks, mamas! You can shop it below for your next date night or evening out for cocktails.
